Director Of Engineering-regulatory Compliance (20182067)

JOB SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITES:
The primary goal of this position is to ensure life safety and applicable code and regulatory compliance within the environment of care, as well as all construction and renovation sites within McLeod Health facilities. Responsible for planning, coordinating, administering, and documenting training and orientation for assigned McLeod employees and purchased-services trade personnel. Must be able to develop, manage, and follow through to completion action plans and plans for corrective action. Requires the ability to accurately interpret and apply building and safety standards, codes, and regulations. Responsibilities include accurate documentation and reporting of deficiencies and remedial actions taken to ensure life safety and applicable code compliance, which requires the ability to accurately interpret and apply codes and to develop, manage, and follow-through to completion action plans and plans for corrective action. The position requires the ability to identify, gather, maintain, trend, and utilize data and to appropriately utilize A3 root cause analysis to develop meaningful and useful reports to proactively improve life safety within the environment of care and McLeod Health facilities. This position requires the ability to work all shifts and weekends when necessary. REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports to the Senior Vice President of Planning & Facilities Management
MINIMAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Requires an Associate's degree in an engineering related field, OR a certificate from an accredited OSHA Training Institute (OTI) Education Center with an equivalent minimum of 90 contact/credit hours in Construction, General Industry, Occupational, or Healthcare Safety. In lieu of the required degree or certificate, a Code Enforcement Officer's license as issued by the South Carolina Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, South Carolina Building Codes Council is acceptable.
In lieu of the educational requirements, five (5) years of relevant experience that provides the candidate with the necessary knowledge, skill, and abilities to perform the functions of the position proficiently will be accepted.
A Mechanical or General Contractor's license as issued by the South Carolina Contractor's Licensing Board, Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation will qualify as the equivalent of five (5) years of relevant job-related experience.
A Bachelor of Science degree or an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering field is beneficial but not required. Additional licenses and/or certifications that demonstrate additional mastery of engineering or physical plant equipment will be considered beneficial to the execution of the role.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Field experience as a Code Enforcement Officer is helpful but not required. Adept computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications are required for this position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Requires excellent visual perception and the ability to hear, write, and communicate effectively. Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time and over long distances. Requires ability to climb stairs and ladders to conduct required inspections. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
